This post answers the most commonly asked questions about billing descriptors and ARNs

 

Why Can't I Add My Descriptor?

You may have added the descriptor to another account, which would lock it to that account. Contact our support team, and we’ll remove it for you.

Alternatively, your billing descriptor may already be enrolled with another chargeback alerts provider.

If so, you’ll receive an email from one of our specialists asking you to contact your current provider to release your descriptor and/or BINs and CAID.


How Do I Remove Billing Descriptors & ARNs?

Due to how Chargeback.io integrates with Ethoca and Verifi, you cannot remove billing descriptors and ARNs on your own.

You'll need to follow one of these methods to remove them:

  • Billing descriptors:
  • ARNs: You'll need to reach out to our support team to remove these.

ℹ️ There's no practical reason to remove ARNs. Removing ARNs won't make any difference regarding receiving alerts or not getting false alerts.
