Do You Need to Connect With a Payment Processor?
When to Connect to a Payment Processor
Connect a payment processor if you want automatic refunds and if we offer an integration that you need. If we don't have an integration for your payment processor, you'll need to set up the Manual Refunds integration.
When It's Not Necessary
If you enable auto-refund and enroll in Ethoca and CDRN alerts, you must connect to at least one payment processor. These providers do not automatically refund transactions by design.
Chargeback automatically processes refunds on your behalf with these alerts. Hence, why we require a connection to a payment processor.
If you do not want to connect a payment processor to Chargeback, you must disable auto-refund.
If you disable auto-refund, RDR will continue to automatically refund transactions. CDRN and Ethoca will not.
How to Disable Auto-Refund
Follow these settings to disable auto-refund:
- Navigate to Personal settings
-
Click Business accounts on the left-hand menu
-
Navigate or scroll down to the section labeled Auto-refund
-
Toggle off the slider adjacent to Enable auto-refund
-
