How to Find Your Billing Descriptor & ARNs With Recurly
Recurly does not have control over billing descriptors. It also does not produce ARN codes.
Please contact your payment gateway (e.g., Stripe) directly to find your billing descriptor and ARN code.
If Stripe is your payment processor, we provide a guide to finding your billing descriptor and ARNs.
👉 How & Where to Add Descriptor(s) & ARNs
Here's how to add your descriptor(s) and ARNs:
- Navigate to the Enrollments page (Business settings > Enrollment)
- Click the “+ Enroll more descriptors” button.
- Select your Payment processor (e.g., Shopify).
- Enter your billing descriptor(s) in the field labeled Billing descriptor. If you have more than one, separate them with commas.
- In the RDR enrollment process, enter your four different ARNs (for Visa transactions) in the field provided, separating each code with a comma.
ℹ️ It should take 12 hours for CDRN and Ethoca to activate. And typically 3 business days for RDR to activate.
Why Can't I Add My Descriptor?
You may have added the descriptor to another account, which would lock it to that account. Contact our support team, and we’ll remove it for you.
Alternatively, your billing descriptor may already be enrolled with another chargeback alerts provider.
If so, you’ll receive an email from one of our specialists asking you to contact your current provider to release your descriptor and/or BINs and CAID.
