How to Get BINs & CAID for RDR Alerts

Learn how to get your acquirer BINs and CAID to set up RDR

Acquirer BIN & CAID Requirements

  • BINs: One or more sets of numbers, 6 – 8 digits long

  • CAID: 1 – 15 characters long

⚠️ Getting your BIN and CAID usually takes 1 – 2 business days from your payment processor’s support team.

❌ OceanPayment will not provide BINs or CAID. Their support will refuse requests.

Why You Need BINs & CAID

If you don’t have Visa ARNs, you can still enable Rapid Dispute Resolution (RDR) using BINs and CAID (also known as B&C).

How to Request BINs & CAID

When contacting your payment processor, use this template:

Hello,

Can you please provide my BINs and CAID
? I need them so I can activate Rapid Dispute Resolution (RDR) alerts for my business.

Thank you.

Common Pushback From Payment Processors

What if they say they don’t have this information?

Some processors (e.g., Stripe, Shopify) may claim they cannot provide BINs and CAID. This is not true. They do have this data, and we have successfully obtained it from them many times.

If support resists:

  • Ask to escalate the request to a specialist
  • Try reaching another support agent

After You Receive BINs & CAID

  • Contact our support team.

  • Tell us which account you’re activating.

  • We will forward the information to Verifi.

ℹ️ RDR activation takes up to 3 business days unless other issues arise. It can take up to 14 business days if Verifi has a backlog.

See this guide for other potential delays and how to avoid them.
