How to Switch to Chargeback from a Different Provider
Learn how to switch to Chargeback.io from a different chargeback alerts provider.
Say you want to transfer to Chargeback.io from a different chargeback alert service.
The easiest way to do this is to reach out to your current provider and ask them to unenroll and release your BINs, CAID, and billing descriptor.
However, this route typically leaves you without coverage for a few days, leaving you exposed to chargebacks. If you don’t have that many chargebacks, I highly recommend choosing this route because what we’ll discuss in this article can take a decent amount of time to complete.
⚠️ Ensure that you pay all outstanding invoices and bills. Otherwise, the transfer cannot proceed.
Let’s say you don’t want to lose coverage. What should you do?
First, reach out to your current provider and send this script:
Hey there,
Please transfer our Ethoca and Verifi coverage to Chargeback.io no later than [DATE]. See the instructions below. Thank you.
⚠️ Ensure the date is no later than 7 to 10 days in the future.
Here are the instructions you’d send them:
1. Verifi
- RDR:
- Tell us (Chargeback.io) the platform that you'd like to transfer to.
- Have the platform you want to transfer to complete the Verifi transfer form.
- Have them email the form to Verifi, CC support@chargeback.io and knowledge.walker@verifi.com so everyone can track the request.
- Here’s the BIN & CAID form (File Download) — send this file to your current provider
- CDRN:
- Let you want to transfer and who you want to transfer to. From there, we'll reach out to them.
ℹ️ Verifi is responsible for RDR and CDRN alerts.
2. Ethoca
- Reach out to Ethoca’s customer support and request that every billing descriptor be reassigned to Chargeback Solutions FZCO.
- Include your company name and current Ethoca ID.
- CC support@chargeback.io; we’ll supply our Ethoca participant ID if needed.
- After approval, Ethoca may ask you to add the descriptors through Chargeback.io — just let us know and we’ll handle it.
What Happens Next?
If the customer service specialist from the other platform doesn’t confirm that a transfer request is in progress, reach out to them to check whether they have started the transfer.
⚠️ The transfer may take longer if you start this process close to a weekend because Verifi and Ethoca typically don’t process transfers during the weekend.
