Transfer your alert service from Chargeback.io to another provider

How to move your Ethoca, RDR, and CDRN coverage from Chargeback.io to a different chargeback alerts provider.

Written by Theodore

This article explains how to move your Ethoca, Rapid Dispute Resolution (RDR), and Cardholder Dispute Resolution Network (CDRN) coverage from Chargeback.io to another chargeback alerts provider.

This article covers transferring away from Chargeback.io. If you're moving to Chargeback.io from another provider instead, see Transfer your alert service to Chargeback.io. This article does not cover moving a billing descriptor between two Chargeback.io accounts.

⚠️ Pay all outstanding invoices before requesting the transfer. Unresolved balances block the transfer.

Important considerations:

  • Partial transfers: If you only want to transfer specific descriptors, or BINs and CAID, while keeping others with Chargeback.io, note this in your request.

  • Request Case IDs: Once you're unenrolled or released, request the unenrollment Case IDs from our support. Forward them to your new provider if any enrollment issues come up.

⚠️ Chargeback.io processes your request right away. However, because Verifi and Ethoca manage the transfer, and your new provider must cooperate, the overall timeline is outside our direct control.

Step 1: Create an Account With Your New Provider

Sign up with your new provider and complete any required onboarding steps.

Step 2: Request a Verifi Transfer Form

Ask your new provider for the Verifi transfer form. This form is required to move your coverage.

Step 3: Contact Chargeback.io Support

Send the following request to Chargeback.io support:

Hello. Please transfer me to [PROVIDER NAME]. Attached is the Verifi transfer form. Can I also have the Case IDs for the transfer when they're available?

⚠️ Make sure you attach the form provided by your new provider.

Step 4: Confirmation

Chargeback.io confirms once the transfer process has started. After confirmation, no further action is required from you.

How Long Unenrollment Takes

If your transfer involves unenrolling your descriptors, unenrollment usually takes:

  • 1 to 2 business days for RDR and CDRN.

  • Up to 5 business days for Ethoca.

You can unenroll your billing descriptors by completing the unenrollment form.

To refund a remaining balance, every descriptor must show the Unenrolled status. Once all descriptors are unenrolled, contact support.

Troubleshooting

Your transfer hasn't progressed

Chargeback.io processes your request right away, but the transfer only moves forward once your new provider submits the enrollment request to Verifi and Ethoca. In some cases the alert networks confirm they never received a request.

Fix: Ask your new provider to confirm they submitted the transfer or enrollment request to the alert networks, and to share the related Case IDs.

Your descriptor started unenrolling on its own

If your balance drops below the minimum threshold, the system can automatically begin unenrolling your descriptors, which interrupts a transfer.

Fix: Top up your balance and contact support right away. Unenrollment can be stopped only if you catch it quickly, before our enrollment team has processed the unenrollment with the networks. Once it's submitted to Verifi or Ethoca, it can't be reversed, and you would need to re-enroll.

You're waiting on a balance refund after unenrolling

A balance refund can only be issued once every descriptor shows the Unenrolled status.

Fix: Confirm all descriptors show Unenrolled, then contact support.
