Acquirer BIN & CAID Requirements

  • BINs: One or more sets of numbers, 6–8 digits long

  • CAID: 1–15 characters long

⚠️ Getting your BIN and CAID usually takes 1–2 business days from your payment processor’s support team.

OceanPayment and Shopify stores based in France will not provide BINs or CAID. Their support will refuse such requests.

1. Why You Need BINs & CAID

If you don’t have Visa ARNs, you can still enable Rapid Dispute Resolution (RDR) using your acquirer BINs and CAID (also known as B&C).

2. How to Request BINs & CAID

When contacting your payment processor, use this exact message:

Hello,

Can you please provide my BINs and CAID? I need them so I can activate Rapid Dispute Resolution (RDR) alerts for my business.

Thank you.

3. Common Pushback From Payment Processors

Some processors (like Stripe and Shopify) may claim they cannot provide BINs and CAID.

This is not true. They do have this data, and we’ve successfully obtained it from them many times.

If support does not provide them:

  • Ask to escalate the request to a specialist

  • Try reaching another support agent

4. After You Receive BINs & CAID

  1. In the sidebar, click Alerts to expand the dropdown.

  2. Select Configure.

  3. In the RDR card, click + Enroll More Descriptors.

  4. Check "I want to use BIN and CAID instead of ARNs".

  5. Enter your BIN(s) and CAID(s).

If you're having trouble adding your acquirer BIN and CAID, reach out support team, tell us which account you're activating, and send us your BINs and CAID.

ℹ️ RDR activation usually takes up to 3 business days, but it may take up to 14 business days if Verifi has a backlog.
