Add a newly connected payment integration to Credit automation

Fix "add newly connected integration" error for Automate credits.

Written by Theodore

Complete the new integration’s access setup, then submit a Credit automation request for that integration only.

If you see this message on the Credits page, the newly connected integration needs an access request before it can be included in Credit automation:

We couldn’t verify access to [processor]: a new integration was connected. Submit a new request to add the new integration to Credit automation.

This article is for users with the Owner or Administrator role in Chargeback.io who see this message. It covers adding an already-connected integration to Credit automation, not connecting the integration itself or resubmitting integrations already included in an earlier request.

Stripe exception: If the Stripe tab shows Access already available, the connected integration already provides the required transaction access. You do not need to send an invitation or submit a separate access request for that Stripe integration.

Before you start

Identify the newly connected integration and its payment processor account. If you manage several accounts with the same processor, check which specific account was added, not just the processor’s name.

You need permission to invite users or manage access in that processor account. Your role in Chargeback.io does not automatically give you those permissions. Ask the person who manages the processor account to help if necessary.

Submit a request for the new integration only. Do not repeat invitations or resubmit access requests for integrations already included in your earlier request.

Open the new integration’s access setup

  1. In the Chargeback.io dashboard, open Credits for the affected business account.

  2. Click Restore payment account.

  3. Open the tab for the newly connected payment processor.

If the new integration is missing, or you cannot distinguish it from an existing integration with the same processor, contact Support before submitting a request.

Submit the access request for the new integration

After granting the required processor access:

  1. Return to the Credit automation setup in Chargeback.io.

  2. In the affected processor’s tab, select the checkbox under Confirm invitation for the newly connected integration.

  3. If there are multiple tabs, use Next to reach the submission step.

  4. Click Submit request to send the access request for the new integration.

Granting access in the payment processor does not submit the request in Chargeback.io. You must also complete the confirmation and click Submit request.

Do not repeat the access setup for integrations already included in an earlier request. If Submit request is disabled and you cannot proceed without repeating setup for existing integrations, contact Support rather than resubmitting them.

What happens after you submit?

The new integration’s access request becomes Pending while Chargeback.io verifies processor access. This usually takes one business day.

Do not submit another request while the check is pending unless Chargeback.io asks you to update it.

Submitting the request does not immediately include the new integration in Credit automation. Its access must be verified first. We will email you when Credit automation becomes active or another change is needed.

What changes when Credit automation becomes active?

Once the required access is verified for all connected processors, Credit automation becomes active for the business account. Chargeback.io then handles system credit requests without asking you to upload proof.

Manual credit requests are not automated. Credit automation also does not search for alerts or create missing system credit requests.

What happens to credit-request emails during verification?

Continue following the instructions in any Automatic Credit Request emails you receive. Do not assume requests associated with the new integration are handled by Credit automation before its access is verified.

Once Credit automation is active for the business account, credit emails stop. Other Chargeback.io notifications, including updates about Credit automation, are not turned off.

What if the new integration cannot be verified?

Check the verification reason in the banner on Credits. The next step depends on the reason shown:

Verification reason

What to correct

No invite received

Send the required invitation from the newly connected processor account.

Limited permissions

Correct Chargeback’s permissions in that processor account.

Invite is for the wrong account

Grant access to the processor account used by the new integration.

A new integration was connected

Submit access request for a newly connected integration.

After correcting the issue, return to Credits → Restore payment account and resubmit the access request for the new integration only.

If the new integration or its access instructions are missing, contact Support with the affected business account and integration details.

Do not resubmit all existing integrations, or disconnect and reconnect them, as a workaround.
